Rhodesxrhodes

Jesse was working at a recording studio one day when Gabrielle walked in to record a parody track for her YouTube channel. Four years later, Gabrielle was looking for a producer to work on a few new songs - so she gave Jesse a call. He was managing a studio and it didn’t take long before the pair were working on Gabrielle’s solo project. They quickly became inseparable; watching Avatar: The Last Airbender or playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time, late into the night.

Fast forward four more years and we meet Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes or RhodesXRhodes. After running a successful recording studio together, they decided to walk away and focus on their own music.

RhodesXRhodes is an indie pop band based out of Los Angeles with new music coming out in January. Their virtual concert series THE SET LIST is available to stream for free on BIGO live every Friday at 8:30 pm PST.

RhodesXRhodes produces everything in house. If you want a deep dive into their creative and producing process, head over to THE LAB. Wednesdays at 6pm PST on BIGO live.

Jessse RHodes

Jesse has been carrying a guitar around ever since his aunt got him one in the fourth grade. Self taught, the LA native formed many high school bands and started recording himself on any free software he could get his hands on. After playing in a number of garage pop punk bands, he left the stage to go “behind-the-scenes” and received a degree in audio engineering. He started work as an audio engineer at ES audio and subsequently lived on ramen noodles for quite some time.

Since then, he built and ran his own studio from the ground up- before walking away to form RhodesXRhodes.

Jesse still produces for other artists from time to time, but enjoys the freedom to purse his own passions. He has produced every genre from Hip-Hop to Classical and plays a variety of instruments, so you never know what you are going to get with Jesse.

Gabrielle Rhodes

Gabrielle came to RhodesXRhodes by way of musical theatre. She was in her first vocal class and musical by kindergarten and fell head over heels with the limelight.

Armed with a city bus pass and a lot of conviction, Gabrielle filled her early days in San Diego with classical voice lessons, dance classes, theatre rehearsals and acting classes before she was old enough to drive.

At 17, she graduated high school a year early and attended The New York Conservatory for Dramatic arts on a partial scholarship and received her degree in Film & TV. New York City stole Gabrielle’s heart, but with so much happening back in LA- she decided to load the u-haul and drive back west.

Back in LA, Gabrielle started the acting circuit and took a job at RW media; company that executive produces music videos among other things. Though her focus was still on acting, the world of music was so fascinating and exciting.

At some point, the muses struck and pushed Gabrielle back to one of her early passions, the music portion of musical theatre. It is in that world that she re- met her husband Jesse and the two of them ran the recording studio for quite some time.

The studio was an amazing place for Gabrielle to learn and grown - not just as a singer, but as a musician and music producer. Eventually, the pair walked away from running the studio to focus on RhodesXRhodes and Gabrielle has really fallen in love with the process of making music.
